Jayce & Nicole

September 17th, 2009 , Posted in Wedding

It is one of life’s sweetest pleasures… to be loved and to know that you are loved. To know you have somebody that thinks the world of you. To know somebody will be there when you hurt, or want to celebrate, or just need to be quite. To find somebody in this big, big world that will travel the mountains and valleys by your side.

Their smiles and laughter were so genuine …so tender and real.

Knowing that no one but the other could make him so happy…that no one but the other could make her heart spill over with this much joy. Realizing that it’s simple….they have each other and life is good.

The reception was held on the gorgeous grounds of Welkinweir. Carson from Carson Smucker Video was great to work with. A big thanks to Larry from Weaver Images for working with me and rocking his camera.

Jayce and Nicole, by yourselves you are wonderful…together you are perfect. May you relish the little things you have been anticipating…snuggling on your living room couch, spending Saturday night in Home Depot, cooking dinner together, just “being” side by side.

Thank-you for allowing me to document your big day. It was truly a pleasure.

She beamed….radiated little sparkles of bouncing light.  Overjoyed. So, so happy.

Reggie loves Nicole so evidently. Almost as if he holds her so carefully in the palm of his hand.

Two big hearts of gold. Yes, and so so happy to be together. Genuine joy and contentment to be side by side.

Her blue eyes spoke it quite clearly….as they are bluest when she is the happiest. For sure, I am told!

Abigail & Randy

July 11th, 2009 , Posted in Wedding

I loved this girl…really loved her! Spontaneous and so full of bubbling life. When she laughs it is with eyes squinted and  head thrown back kinda laugh. He looked at her with a grin of adoration….treating her with utmost kindness and gentleness. They seemed to view life with a contentment…realizing that the simple pleasures are often the best.

So happy, so happy to be together. Ever see comics that have rainbows of hearts spewing from two people in love? I believe Randy and Abigail had that in real life.

A casual Friday evening wedding was perfect. The flowers were fragrant with a full mix of mint tea, hydrangeas, daisies, and perennials all tied up neatly with a green ribbon….every one gathered from the mother of the bride’s gardens.  I met Randy and Abigail on Randy’s home farm. Bright pink shoes were borrowed  and an antique bike was brought to the farm for pictures.  Family wandered around, laughing and joking. Lively cousins ran and played together. Later that evening, Grandpa married Randy and Abigail with gruff affection.

Abigail and Randy, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your day. I wish you only the best….you deserve the absolute finest life has to offer!

John & Emilee

July 2nd, 2009 , Posted in Wedding

Idyllic. Yes, yes…that is the word that seems to fit their day.

The breeze stirred the willow trees and caused ripples on the lake. The air was moist and warm from early morning rain and a few rain drops still fell, but nobody seemed to mind. The smell of chicken barbecue wafted through the air and the sound of laughter tinkled as family and friends arrived. Daisies were gathered and placed in mason jars and yellow roses were on hand for the bride. As the afternoon crept towards evening, the festivities were ready to begin.

Simplicity and ease. In a way a classic…. at it’s finest. Yes, a day to celebrate John and Emilee and forever. But even more, a day to celebrate friendship, family, and the good life. John described it well when he asked me before the wedding…”Most important, capture the spirit and livelihood of the evening!”

It all took place on the gorgeous grounds of Willow Springs Estates. The girls from Beyond Belief Events did a fantastic job pulling together all the details and kept the day flowing from start to finish.

Emilee, your soft smile and gentle demeanor is a perfect combat for John’s huge grin and lively antics. Thank you for allowing me to join you on your wedding day. I wish you many moonlit truck rides, romps in the meadow, and shared strawberry daiquiris. I am certain your wedding day was only the start of the “good life” together.

Todd & Angie

June 22nd, 2009 , Posted in Wedding

I am certain they didn’t think the day could come soon enough!
It was obvious in the way he looked at her for the first time as she walked the aisle.
It was obvious in the kiss. Just obvious. Where would life’s paths take them? I don’t think knowing this would have made a bit of difference…as long as they were together.
Their moment had arrived. Before those near and dear they promised. Promised to remain side by side for always.
At the end of the day as guests were saying goodbyes and the gifts were being carried out, Todd summed it up nicely…
“This has been the best day of my life. Perfect. It all was perfect.”
Congratulations, Todd and Angie! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your day. I wish you the absolute, very best.

Shane & Sheri

Perfect! Yes, I think very perfect.

You see, the day was splendid…the warm sun twirled and danced with a breeze.

The location was lovely. Perfect for a wedding ceremony under the blue sky.

The details, well…they were delicious. An abundance of details. All impeccably planned and coordinated! You will see.

Friends and family traveled many miles for the celebration.

Their day arrived….and it was perfect!

Many thanks to Larry from Weaver Images for working with me and rocking his camera! Twin Pine Manor Bed and Breakfast provided the beautiful grounds and were so accommodating and easy to work with.

Sheri and Shane, it was a privilege to be part of your day. Thank you for allowing me to document your gorgeous wedding day! Much appreciation. I wish you nothing but the absolute best as you follow your hearts!

Two times perfect. Cherry on the top. Double whammy.

Whatever, weekends and sun are nice. Really nice.

And there is something about this photo….I don’t know, it just makes me happy!

More to come of this fantastic couple!

Mervin and Esther

May 26th, 2009 , Posted in Wedding

Past the the green meadow, by the barn, through the stone farmhouse’s front door and up the stairs…

She serenely and ever so calmly chose a favorite on her iPod, waited as final touches were done to hair, slipped into the dress, and smiled. Smiled at her girls as they buzzed around her with laughter and excitement. Smiled at a last minute peek in the mirror. Smiled out the window overlooking all the preparations. Smiled. Today she was marrying her sweetheart.

And he was ready. As he told the story, he knew and “liked” his girl way back in grade school when he thought she was so very cute. Today he was ready to take her by the hand for always.

The day was filled to the brim with ever so many wonderful, little details. And not only that, it overflowed with laughter and big hugs.

Mervin and Esther…you melt my heart. You love each other and love life in such an evident way. Your wedding was a true reflection of the love you share. Thank-you for sharing your life and allowing us to document your day…it was a pleasure.

Go here to see the slide show of their day.

Gorgeous!

Mervin and Esther scheduled plenty of time for photos which was so awesome!

The reception dinner was held in the barn, on Esther’s home farm. Beautiful!

Mike & Janae

May 11th, 2009 , Posted in Wedding

Details! The details were exquisite and perfectly aligned. The gorgeous vanilla cream dress with a vintage flair. Shoes with just enough bling. And the rusty rose peonies tucked in among the wild mixture of hydrangeas.

Simple and easy. All that really mattered was each other.  Kinda like realizing life’s best is sometimes the simplest. Just thrilled to be promising love for life. Just thrilled to jump in Mike’s truck and drive towards forever.

Mike and Janae…shared strawberry milkshakes, truck rides on warm summer nights, weekend mornings to sleep in….and all those little treasures that make you smile. Together. Forever.

I had the pleasure of assisting Rick from Titus Touch Photography. Let me just say, Rick has been a perfect example of generosity and the value of learning from those that have been there and done that. I am so blessed to have learned so much from the experience of those around me.

See a few more at the slide show. Mike and Janae….
