Ben & Falan

July 29th, 2010 , Posted in Wedding

It was a warm day with a steady rain pitter-patting down.

The grounds were perfectly manicured with abundant flowerbeds, potted plants, and a trim vegetable garden. The tents were set up in the backyard. The in-ground pool danced with the rain drops and the yellow sunflowers floating on top.

The house bustled with activity as family prepared the last minute details and friends started arriving.

She helped her bridesmaids apply makeup, opted to let her hair fall in soft waves instead of pinning up, and slipped into her gold shoes…relaxed and happy.

It was an honor to be part of Ben & Falan’s day! Backyard with lots of good detail is one of my favorite kinds of weddings.

Stop here to see their slide show.

The simple elegance of Falan’s shoes were perfect…

Clovis & Joanna

July 9th, 2010 , Posted in Wedding

The day took place on the groom’s horse farm….gorgeous and perfect for the wedding.

The feel of the day?

Backyard, laid back, go with the flow, families, barbecued chicken and grilled veggies, swimming for the kiddos, tubs filled with ice and drinks, cowboy hats, and a good time for all.

The farm provided so many good details to capture…

Dathan and Jody

July 2nd, 2010 , Posted in Wedding

She has style and knows how to wear it. Elegant. A little sassy…in a good way. Dainty. Chic. All wrapped up in a luxurious bow.

Satisfied with the normal and boring? No way. I love this in brides.

She arrived in a limo with her girls, flip-flops, and her pink bride bag.

He had a little love note stuck to the mirror in her dressing room waiting for her arrival….and the day was off.

So very many gorgeous aspects to the day.

Thank-you Jody and Dathan for inviting me to be part of your day. All the very, very best to you!

Thanks again to Larry from Weaver Images and Tawanda for working with me and helping the day flow so well.

Kath & Matt

June 28th, 2010 , Posted in Wedding

The day arrived and with it hustle and bustle as the final details were put in place.

A big, white tent was set up complete with a wooden alter at the front. Tables were placed in the front yard. Flowerbeds were perfectly manicured and hanging flower baskets graced the front porch. Napkins were wrapped with twine and little name tags. Cooks bustled around preparing the pulled pork, homemade rolls, and gallons of meadow tea. Vases overflowing with peonies were ready to be placed on the tables. Kath’s friends put the final touches on the bridal table. Tea lights placed inside mason jars hung from the wooden pergolas. Nieces and nephews dressed in their best waited for the day to start.

Matt and Kath planned a “first look.” And their hearts seemed to over flow with tenderness for each other.

So was their day. Easy laughter, tight hugs, heartfelt congratulations, croquet games, and barefoot children.

I thoroughly enjoyed capturing the beauty and joy in Matt and Kath’s day.

See their slide show here.

Thanks to Larry from Weaver Images for working with me and capturing great images.

Thank-you Matt and Kath for allowing me to be part of your day. Blessings to you.

The first look allowed plenty of time for photos at the very beginning of the day.

Autstin & Amy

Her eyes danced. And sparkled. She radiated life and laughter. You can’t help but love Amy.

IMG_7580

Amy’s emails to me often ended with the number of days left until the big day…followed by exclamation points and a smiley face. This is Amy.

She is detailed. The day was planned. When it finally arrived, everything was perfectly in place.

They seemed to enjoy and soak in every minute of their day. All day. In a easy, relaxed, just happy to be together way.

See their slide show here.

A big thank-you to Kelly Lapp for working with me and catching excellent photos.

Austin and Amy, you were a delight to work with. For real. Thank-you for the privilege!

Casey & Kerri

June 12th, 2010 , Posted in Uncategorized, Wedding

She floated around the room in her purple satin robe. Relaxed. Peaceful. Enjoying the calm and quiet before the day’s activities began. Her mother kept her company, helped her button up the dress, and stopped every now and then to give Kerri a hug or a kiss on the cheek.

Then the girls arrived. And the activity started! Gushing, doting, squeals…oh, these girls were girlfriends at their finest!

The day had arrived.

Casey beamed proudly at his bride as she walked to him and Kerri wiped away happy tears as Casey sang to her at the reception. Family members and friends showed support in every way possible.

I loved everything about this day. The planning process allowed me to feel like a friend to Kerri and her family.

Thanks to Nicola Herring for working with me and getting excellent photos.

The details of the day were perfect….loved Kerri’s vision and eye for detail.

The wedding was held at The Cork Factory Hotel. See Casey and Kerri’s slide show here.

Casey and Kerri, truly it was an honor and a delight. Thank-you, thank-you. All the very, very best!

Josh & Brynn

May 29th, 2010 , Posted in Wedding

The sun shone warmly as the day started…

She arrived in a cute little tee with “Bride” across the front in sparkly sequins.

All her bridesmaids carried matching pink and white bags with their “getting ready” supplies.

Details. Many impeccable details all tied together with a vivid pink and abundant white flowers.

And they were so in love….treating each other and others with utmost kindness and sincerity.

She cried when his scribbled note was delived to her as she prepared. He cried when he saw her for the first time as she walked down the aisle.

The wedding was held at Phoenixville Foundry…. such a gorgeous venue.

A big thank-you to Larry from Weaver Images and ever so helpful Tawanda for working with me.

To see more of their day, see the slide show here.

Lavern & Fannie Lynn

February 2nd, 2010 , Posted in Wedding

We arrived at her house before the sun rose. The ground was frosty and the stars were shining. We climbed the steps to her bedroom. Fannie Lynn and her sister talked quietly as they finished hair and did final make-up touch ups. Little brother, all shiny in his suit, stood shyly outside the bedroom door, watching and grinning. When it was time for  Lavern to arrive, he found her before she even could come down the stairs. Beaming smiles, exuberant hugs, and excited laughter followed…setting the tone for the day.

I always walk away from a wedding blessed by some aspect of the day. This time it was the close family, heartfelt stories, tight hugs, tears of happiness, and genuine laughter. Oh, and the amazing peanut butter pie I was sent home with.

Thanks to Colleen from Capture This Photography for working with me!

Lavern and Fannie Lynn, thank-you for including us in your day. I am quite certain you have many, many good years ahead.

Leon & Kate

November 27th, 2009 , Posted in Wedding

The day dawned warm with light gray clouds scattered across the sky.

As she walked into the church,  she took a deep. Her eyes danced.

Her girls bustled around her. Primping and prepping and laughing and doing what bridesmaids do on the big day.

And she smiled softly.

Reds shoes were perfect for her.

Kate is sweet and kind and it is easy to see Leon loves her with his everything.

As the rain gently pitter-pattered outside, Kate and Leon promised forever.  It was clear family and friends shared a deep affection and loyalty for Kate and Leon.

Stop here to see their slideshow.

Leon and Kate, it was an honor to be included in your day. Many, many blessing to you both.
